Join us this June for Arthritis Ireland’s inaugural virtual fitness challenge. The 30 in 30 challenge is the perfect way to improve your health all while supporting a great cause. Run, walk or jog the distance of a 30k, in 30 days (or any multiple of 30!), during the month of June or do 30 min of exercise every day for 30 days. Help raise much needed funds for those living with arthritis in Ireland.  Whether you take part to honour yourself, a friend or a family member you will be making a huge difference to people living with arthritis. You can take part in your own time and anywhere across the country, near your home or in your local park. Our only ask is to make sure to do it safely and in line with the latest government advice.  (link to page with latest advice)

 

Sadly, due to the current COVID 19 health emergency, we have had to postpone one of our biggest fundraisers of the year. This has had a major impact for us and has contributed to a severe drop in fundraising. However, despite this we are continuing to support the one million adults and 1200 children across the country living with arthritis.

30 mins every day for 30 days:

Challenge yourself in your own way. Whether you vacuum, bake, knit, make a bed, walk around the house, walk your dog or take a walk as a family – as long as you are moving, that’s all that matters! 30 mins of exercise every day will make a lasting, positive impact on your own health and wellbeing (see benefits here – link to exercise page). 30k, in 30 days:

If you fancy pushing yourself a little further; why not run, jog or walk the distance of 30k in 30days? You can do this anywhere, in your own time (within your 5km radius).

 

If you are truly itching for that runners high why not add additional 30k’s – do 60k, 90k or 120k in 30 days (the sky is the limit if it is a multiple of 30!)?

 

Challenge yourself, whatever that means to you. Know, that you will be doing it for the 1200 children and one million adults living with arthritis in Ireland. You will make a BIG difference. #30in30forarthritis #everymovementmatters

Taking part is easy

 

Step 1 Register your fundraising page here and pick the '30 in 30 challenge' appeal in the dropdown menu. follow the steps here

Step 2 Pick and plan your running and walking routes or exercises each week.

 

Step 3 Share your fundraiser with your family and friends and ask them to sponsor your efforts. Advice on how to make the most of your fundraising on social media can be found here

 

Step 4 Log each journey / exercise using Strava, Garmin, RunKeeper, Map my Run or a simple pen and paper.

 

Step 5 Once you have completed your chosen distance or your 30min per day challenge in June, send us proof by emailing [email protected] with a screenshot of your tracker or notes.

 

Step 6 Once we receive this, we will send you on a certificate to recognise your great achievement!
