DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know there are over one million people living with some form of arthritis in Ireland, including more than 1,200 children.

There are over 100 different types of arthritis and related conditions, such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, fibromyalgia, and lupus.

WHAT WE DO.

Arthritis Ireland delivers its very successful self-management programmes, such as Living Well with Arthritis and Behind the Pain mental health programme, as well as organising Be Active with Arthritis, an adapted exercise programme developed by Arthritis Ireland and the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists.

Arthritis Ireland also operates a helpline which offers users a valuable source of trusted information and support.

With the continuous support of fundraisers like this one Arthritis Ireland has been able to invest over 2 million into research in the past six years, establishing centres of arthritis and rheumatology research at TCD and UCD.

"Fundraising income at the charity has been significantly impacted over the last few years by the pandemic," said CEO Grainne O’Leary. “The extraordinary generosity of the public is what enables us to deliver services for people with arthritis all over the country".
