Inflammatory arthritis and you - an invitation to join our online workshops 'What patients need to know about research in Inflammatory Arthritis' Invitation to join our workshops which will be delivered via Zoom Arthritis Ireland in partnership with Trinity College Dublin are hosting a series of national workshops this autumn to consult people living with inflammatory arthritis. We invite those living with the condition to sign up for the workshops which will explore patients understanding of their disease and look at how research that directly involves patients could provide better treatment plans. If you are living with rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis or another related inflammatory arthritis - your contribution will help shape future research into prevention and treatments. To book your place please follow these links: Tuesday 29 September – 7pm to 9.30pm Tuesday 6 October – 7pm to 9.30pm Background - Inflammatory arthritis is a common autoimmune condition that can cause disability for patients’ day-to-day tasks. While new medications have advanced the treatments for many patients, it is still unclear which patients will develop severe disease, who will respond to current therapies and who will experience side effects. To further understand disease progression and response we have designed a series of workshops that will engage with patients, which will aim to address: (i) patients understanding of their disease (ii) the risk factors and potential immune system changes involved, and (iii) how research that directly involves patients may provide important insight to better treatment strategies for Inflammatory arthritis.
