We are looking for an enthusiastic communications and marketing professional to join our team.

The successful candidate will be a core member of the communications team at Arthritis Ireland. You will be actively involved in the development, execution and analysis of campaigns; and will play a leading role in our work across social, web, digital marketing and online advertising. Reporting to the head of communications and advocacy, you will contribute to increasing awareness and understanding of arthritis, support our fundraising, and raise the organisation’s profile and awareness of our work.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Planning, developing, executing and evaluating communications campaigns, activities and events
  • Assisting in the development of content, including videos, infographics, ezines, reports, etc.
  • Writing for digital and traditional media in line with Arthritis Ireland’s identity guidelines
  • Managing Arthritis Ireland’s social media channels, scheduling content and advertising
  • Updating the website and ensuring content is optimised
  • Supporting the fundraising team in the development and publishing of marketing communications materials for the main fundraising campaigns
  • Monitoring and reporting on online metrics including Google Analytics and social media analytics
  • Implementing and optimising Arthritis Ireland’s GoogleAds grant
  • Developing new opportunities online to raise awareness of Arthritis Ireland
  • Liaising with key stakeholders, including people living with arthritis, volunteers, healthcare professionals, etc. in developing case studies
  • Ensuring the Arthritis Ireland brand is implemented consistently across organisational materials
  • Assisting in the development of new imagery
  • Working with third-party suppliers and contractors, including designers, web developers, videographers, photographers, etc.
  • Undertaking other duties as might reasonably be expected from time to time in consultation with line manager

Person specification

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in communications, marketing or PR role
  • A third level qualification in a relevant discipline desirable, but not essential
  • Proven track record in working across digital channels and development of content
  • Excellent organisational, time management and project management skills
  • High level IT skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Self-starter excited by the potential to work as part of a small, dynamic team

Report to: Head of communications and advocacy
Working hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: €38,000
