We are supporting children with arthritis together
Arthritis affects children too. There are 1,200 children living with juvenile arthritis (JA) in Ireland.
Children with JA experience the same pain as adults, but it affects their lives in very different ways. Little things like playing in the yard with classmates, carrying a schoolbag or doing homework become painful and arduous tasks that ultimately cause children with JA to feel isolated and alone.
But JA does not just affect the child in question – their parents and siblings find it extremely difficult too. Families want a normal childhood for their child and our JA programme has been specially tailored to help achieve that.
