We are bringing a community together
The Arthritis Ireland volunteer network is an inspirational group of people who are committed to making a difference in the lives of people with arthritis.
Over the years, the network has grown to include 20 branches and 22 walking groups right around the country with a total of more than 400 dedicated volunteers giving up their skills and time.
These groups exist to transform the lives of people with arthritis in their own communities. They do this by providing local access to our support services and education programmes. They are the local voice of Arthritis Ireland, raising awareness in the media and among politicians of the issues affecting people with arthritis in their area.
The branches also fundraise. 100% of what they raise in their communities is spent there.
Our wish for the coming few years is that every community will have a branch of their own with local education programmes, walking groups and other exercise classes together with local supports for young people and families living with juvenile arthritis.
None of this can happen, though, without one key ingredient – the individuals who give up their time to take on these voluntary roles. Whether they lead a walking group, deliver a course or administer a branch’s finances, they have dedicated themselves to making a difference in the lives of people with arthritis in their area.
