Support for Parents
We offer a whole range of support services and provide comprehensive information on every aspect of JA.
Publications
Our information booklets include When a Child Has Arthritis and When a Teenager Has Arthritis which can help you to learn more about JA and about living with JA. Tim has Arthritis is an booklet for 4 -8 year olds that you can use to help explain your condition to a younger sibling.
Our magazine Arthritis Life contains real life inspirational stories about living with JA, practical tips and advice for living with arthritis, updates on all JA events and more. If you ever have a story you would like to share with us and our readers about your experience of JA please contact us. Other young people may feel more positive about their condition if they hear about your experience.
Peer Supports
Our Parent2Parent Network puts parents in touch to give each other the unique support and understanding that comes from living with JA in the family. Register here or find them on Facebook.
The JA Branch Support Officers are specially trained who operate within our branch network giving peer support to parents or guardians of children with JA. They will direct you towards the information and services you need, as well as providing practical advice and a sympathetic ear. Contact a JA Branch Support Officer here.
Who knows arthritis better than those who live it? Our JA Mentors are adults who have/had JA, who share their different perspectives with children and families. They have gone through much of what young people with JA will go through and can provide valuable insight and support to help increase the confidence of children living with JA. Contact a JA Mentor here or learn more about becoming a JA Mentor here.
