Physical activity can have a great impact in the management of your arthritis. One organisation that knows the importance of physical activity for all is Siel Bleu. The charity has been delivering their specially designed physical activity programmes to Arthritis Ireland groups for over a year now.

Who is seated exercise for?

With aims such as improving physical well being by working on muscle strength and flexibility as well as focusing on social and mental well being, the programmes are

 Why seated exercise?

“Since I started doing the programme I noticed the stiffness has gone out of myhands and they’re much more flexible. It has inspired me so much,” says Breda Ennis a participant of the first Siel Bleu/Arthritis Ireland programme in Dublin. “It’s a way to do something positive for yourself while being guided by experts.”

 

Where are seated exercise classes taking place?

Siel Bleu has now delivered programmes with Arthritis Ireland in Dublin, Wicklow and Limerick and will be available in other counties soon.

Would you like to experience a free, at home physical activity programme especially designed to help manage your arthritis?

Siel Bleu, Ireland’s leading adapted exercise charity, in association with the European Commission are seeking 6 volunteers to try an at home exercise programme which will be used in the development of an innovative new website.

Get Physical is a web project which aims to promote active living as a preventative tool, give people access to practise physical activity in their own home, and bring together all the main players in active living.

What do you have to do? Your commitment would give you 8 sessions of physical activity delivered by a Siel Bleu professional in the comfort of your own home. You would also be invited to participate in two community events based around physical activity and give your feedback on how you felt the sessions suited your needs. 

Your total commitment? 13 hours over the course of 2 months. 1 – 2 hours per week and your honest feedback.
